Right next to Solothurn West station, SBB is developing a mixed-use area that combines mobility, residential and commercial activities. To the north and south of the historic station building, two new buildings with around 120 modern apartments and spaces for restaurants and retail are being built. Green courtyards contribute to a pleasant microclimate and a pleasant place to spend time. At the same time, the pedestrian and cycle paths will be upgraded and better connected, bringing the neighbourhood and the city centre closer together. Solothurn West station will be strengthened as an important access point to the city and a place for everyday life and socialising.
