Zurich, Altstetten station apartment building
The listed 9-storey apartment building at Altstetten station was designed in 1965 by district architect Max Vogt and completed in 1968. The facade was first refurbished in 1998; in 2017/2018 the entire ground floor was redeveloped. Measures to make the building earthquake resistant were taken during the redevelopment when longitudinal bracing was built from the basement to the mezzanine floor (1st floor). At the same time, a new lift shaft was built for direct access to the arcades on upper floors, which will now be installed. The apartments will be completely refurbished and the building technology will be replaced.
